Energypac Power Generation PLC, listed in 2021, has announced no dividend for the fiscal year 2023-24 due to a substantial loss of Tk98 crore, marking the first time in four years it has withheld a dividend. The company’s consolidated loss per share stood at Tk5.18. Energypac attributed the losses to global economic challenges, including the slow post-pandemic recovery, geopolitical tensions like the Russia-Ukraine war, interest rate hikes, rising fuel prices, and high inflation. Additionally, domestic issues such as currency depreciation, supply chain disruptions, and rising import costs worsened its performance. Despite this, the company raised Tk150 crore through the capital market to finance LPG carriers and loan repayments. Energypac had paid dividends in previous years.
