BRAC Bank, in partnership with VisionSpring, aims to provide eye screenings to over 46,000 individuals in 2024 under its CSR initiative, Aporajeyo Ami. Expanding beyond factory workers, the program now includes BRAC Bank’s head office staff and TARA customers. In 2023, over 15,000 individuals were screened, with 38% requiring glasses—84% of whom were first-time users. A total of 5,916 prescription glasses were distributed, benefiting 3,346 women and 2,570 men. The initiative enhances productivity, employment longevity, and well-being for underserved workers. VisionSpring, a US-based social enterprise, supports this effort through its Clear Vision Workplaces program, which provides affordable eyeglasses to workers earning under $4 a day.
