Biman Bangladesh Airlines achieved a 36% increase in sales from September 2024 to January 2025, totaling Taka 4,057 crore, up from Taka 2,982 crore in the same period the previous year. This growth was driven by competitive fare strategies, the lifting of sales restrictions, and improved revenue management. Sales through the Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) rose by 37%, while web sales increased by 27%. Cargo sales saw significant gains, with growth rates of 146.23% in September and 101.96% in October 2024. Key factors in this growth include agreements with ITA Airways, Japan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, and Hainan Airlines. Biman is also preparing to launch a B2B travel agent portal and expand its credit card acceptance in key markets. However, aircraft shortages hinder expansion of flight routes. Currently, Biman operates 21 aircraft to nearly 25 international destinations.
