DNCC to Establish Community Clinics in 54 Wards

Industry: Healthcare & Pharma, Hospital, Clinic & Diagnostic

Dhaka North City mayor has announced plans to establish community clinics in 54 wards under its jurisdiction to ensure primary healthcare services for city dwellers. At a press conference marking his three years as mayor, he also mentioned initiatives to construct a Hydro Eco Park in Kalyanpur water retention pond and to clear a 1,250-kilometre drain to ensure water flow. The mayor stressed that no road would be constructed without leaving a space of 20 feet and called on city dwellers to leave space for upcoming generations.

City Mayor emphasized the importance of people’s participation to combat mosquito-borne diseases and urged building owners to cooperate with city officials and councilors. He acknowledged that many projects were being implemented slowly due to financial constraints triggered by the Russia-Ukraine war and post-pandemic period but reassured that the city corporation’s own fund would support some development works. The mayor promised stern action against those involved in extortion on footpaths at Mirpur 10 and stressed the importance of building secondary transfer stations to manage wastes.
