The Coca-Cola Foundation has partnered with WaterAid Bangladesh for an 18-month project called “Promoting Water Replenishment and WASH Services” aimed at enhancing water and sanitation security in Savar and Sunamganj, Bangladesh. The project, which began in February, focuses on improving Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services in climate-vulnerable areas and promoting water replenishment through rainwater harvesting. Rainwater harvesting solutions will be implemented at the Center for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP) to ensure sustained water security, along with the introduction of effective recycling techniques for non-drinking purposes.

Additionally, refurbishment work will take place in Sunamganj, which was severely affected by flooding in July 2022. The project will be implemented in two schools and five healthcare facilities to improve sanitation management and WASH access for students and patients, benefiting over 30,000 individuals. The initiative aims to build resilience in climate-vulnerable communities, provide rehabilitation support, and enhance the local community’s capacity in WASH resource management. The project expects to reach over 60,000 individuals, with a focus on adolescents and young women, contributing to a more sustainable Bangladesh in terms of water security and WASH access.
