The agreement, signed at the Bank's head office, aims to enhance benefits for cardholders with discounts on the hotel's services. Senior officials from both organizations attended the ceremony, highlighting the partnership's goal of adding value for CBC customers.

Eggs and broiler chickens in Dhaka are being sold above government-set prices, which aimed to control the market but failed due to supply-demand mismatches and high feed costs. The gap between set and retail prices is around Tk 10 per kg for chicken and Tk 3 per egg.

Eastern Bank PLC has signed a payroll banking agreement with Youth Group, a conglomerate in Bangladesh operating in the energy, power, textile, and mineral sectors. Under this agreement, employees of the group will have access to various banking services, including dual-currency debit cards, multiple loan options tailored to their needs, and other financial benefits. The agreement aims to enhance the financial well-being of the conglomerate’s workforce by offering a comprehensive range of banking perks. The signing ceremony took place in Dhaka, with representatives from both the bank and the group in attendance.

India has removed the floor price for basmati rice exports, effective Friday, to boost overseas sales just before the new-season crop arrives. Previously, the minimum export price (MEP) for basmati was set at $1,200 per metric ton and later reduced to $950. With supplies increasing, exporters requested the removal of the MEP to avoid unsold stocks when the new crop comes in a month. Both India and Pakistan promote basmati rice similarly to French Champagne or Darjeeling tea.

Premier Bank PLC recently signed an agreement with LORDS, an English medium school, offering special benefits for the children of the bank's employees and customers.
