AKM Delwer Hussain has been appointed as an independent director of Standard Bank Limited during the bank’s 374th board meeting, according to a press release. Hussain holds a graduation and masters degree in management from the University of Dhaka and has completed his fellowship in cost and management accountancy from ICMAB. He also holds a PGD in computer science from BIM and has pursued an advance course on administration and development from BPATC. With a notable career, Hussain has served as the president of the South Asian Federation of Accountants, president of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh, director of Rupali Bank Limited, and chairman of the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation.
