Good Fashion Fund (GFF), a Dutch investment fund promoting sustainability in fashion, has made its first investment of $1 million in Bangladesh. The funding will support Progress Apparel Ltd. in establishing a modern in-house washing plant at the Adamjee EPZ’s factory in Narayanganj, Dhaka. The plant will utilize water and chemicals efficiently, promoting supply chain traceability and transparency. The investment enables Progress Apparels to access international funding while advancing sustainable practices. It will reduce water and chemical usage compared to conventional machinery and limit emissions by eliminating outsourced washing. Progress Apparels, part of PDS Limited, is a ready-made garment producer in Bangladesh with a production capacity exceeding 1,000,000 pieces per annum. The GFF’s investment strengthens their manufacturing capabilities and sustainability efforts, demonstrating the potential for environmental responsibility in the apparel supply chain.
