Dhaka’s private TV network, Channel 24, has introduced the nation’s first-ever ‘artificial intelligence’ news presenter named ‘Aparajita,’ marking a significant milestone in the media landscape. Aparajita made her debut during the network’s 7 pm bulletin on Wednesday, 19th July. While the exact technological details behind the creation of this ‘AI’ presenter have not been disclosed by Channel 24, the utilization of artificial intelligence for news delivery has been a global trend. Kuwait News introduced their own AI news reader, “Feda,” back in April, and more recently, Odisha Television Limited (OTV), a private TV station in India, presented an artificial intelligence presenter ‘Lisa’ for news delivery on July 9.
According to the Senior News Editor at Channel 24, Aparajita’s demo run during the prime-time news bulletin garnered positive responses from viewers. The network plans to feature her in their tech-based program, ‘Ctrl A,’ and is enthusiastic about exploring the potential of AI in news presentation
