Dr. Khawza Appointed as Pro VC of GUB

Abul Hashem and Md. Nasiruzzaman have been reappointed as chairmen of BASIC Bank and Bangladesh Krishi Bank after completing their initial three-year terms. Meanwhile, the government appointed Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman as the new chairman of Jiban Bima Corporation, replacing former chairman Md. Asadul Islam.

The interim government has dismissed Abul Hashem as chairman of BASIC Bank, in line with the Bank Company Act. Hashem, who is also the vice chancellor of Anwar Khan Modern University, had initially been appointed as chairman in September 2020 and was reappointed for a second term last November.

Mrs. Rehana Rahman has been unanimously elected as the Vice Chairperson of Southeast Bank PLC's board during the 744th Board Meeting. The board expressed their gratitude to the outgoing Vice Chairman, Mr. Akikur Rahman, for his significant contributions to the bank's growth and development, extending their best wishes for his health and continued support.

LankaBangla Finance PLC and STS Capital Ltd, a subsidiary of STS Group, have collaborated with Mastercard to launch a co-branded credit card tailored for employees, teachers, and guardians associated with the STS education network, which includes Universal College Bangladesh (UCB), International School Dhaka, and Glenrich International School. 

The Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA), which consists of economic graduates, has rejected the formation of an ad hoc committee established by defeated members following the recent election. The newly elected officials of the BEA pointed out that this group announced the creation of the ad hoc committee through various media outlets.
