China is exploring the establishment of an electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Bangladesh, focusing on infrastructure development in the Western region. The initiative aims to enhance bilateral trade relations, offering quota-free trade facilities as Bangladesh transitions from a less developed to a developing nation. Post its least developed countries (LDC) status graduation in 2026, Bangladesh will receive tax benefits in the Chinese market. China emphasized non-interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs, including the upcoming national election. Additionally, China expressed interest in providing training for Bangladeshi personnel engaged in long-term development projects, leveraging its expertise in sectors like infrastructure.
