United Commercial Bank (UCB) initiative, approximately 500 agricultural entrepreneurs in Moulvibazar and Habiganj received training to bolster their farming endeavors. On September 13th, 220 entrepreneurs from seven different upazilas in Moulvibazar convened at the Moulvibazar Municipal Community Center for a comprehensive day-long training session. Meanwhile, another 300 agricultural entrepreneurs hailing from 11 upazilas in the Habiganj district attended a skill development training held at the Anamika Community Center on the same day. The focus of these sessions revolved around disseminating knowledge on the disbursement of agricultural credit and the provision of agricultural incentive assistance, with a particular emphasis on facilitating ease of access.
UCB’s agricultural support project, “Bhoroshar Notun Janala,” extended beyond training, as it facilitated the formation of three groups, each comprising 60 agricultural entrepreneurs, in 50 model upazilas. These groups were instrumental in promoting climate-friendly crop production, expanding agricultural mechanization facilities, and providing food preservation and processing assistance. The BSAFE Foundation played a pivotal role as a partner in the implementation of this project.
