The government has allocated a significant budget of Tk600 crore for agricultural incentives in the 2023-24 fiscal year, with the primary aim of boosting agricultural production across the nation. This allocation represents an increase from the Tk500 crore provided in the previous fiscal year, underlining the government’s commitment to supporting the farming community. During the 2022-23 fiscal year, approximately 67.65 lakh farmers benefited from these incentives.
Under the ongoing agricultural incentive and rehabilitation initiative, an impressive sum of over Tk209 crore has already been disbursed among farmers for the cultivation of various crops, including Black gram, summer onion, wheat, Maize, Mustard, sunflower, peanuts, soya bean, winter onion, Mung bean, lentil, and Khesari Dal. This support has reached over 20 lakh farmers, demonstrating the tangible impact of the program in bolstering agricultural activities.
