Bangladesh’s state-owned Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Ltd (RPGCL) is scheduled to import two liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes in September and October 2023. The first cargo, to be supplied by Total Energies, is priced at $13.77 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) and will be delivered on September 28-29. The second cargo, provided by Vitol, is priced at $14.90/mmBtu and will arrive on October 12-13. These imports are part of Bangladesh’s efforts to meet its growing power demand. Additionally, the country has secured long-term LNG supply contracts with OQ Trading and QatarEnergy, starting in 2026. US-based Excelerate Energy is also in advanced discussions to supply long-term LNG to Bangladesh, although no further details have been disclosed.
