The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a positive opening on September 26, 2023, with the DSEX index gaining 9.22 points to reach 6,292 after a flat ending the previous day. The DS30 index increased by 2.82 points to 2,139, and the DSES index rose by 1.86 points to 1,361 during the initial two hours of trading.
Turnover amounted to Tk 1.97 billion, with low-cap stocks dominating. Union Insurance topped the turnover list with Tk 108 million in shares changing hands. In total, 118 stocks advanced, 29 declined, and 102 remained unchanged.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened positively, with the CASPI index up 14 points to 18,593. Investors showed interest in speculative, rumor-driven stocks, but caution is advised due to the volatile nature of such trading.
