A joint venture between Chinese firm China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited (CSCEC) and Bangladeshi company Spectra Engineers Limited (SEL) has secured a contract worth Tk 21.37 billion for a portion of the Kewatkhali Bridge construction project in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. This project involves the construction of a 1.1-kilometer bridge, including a notable 320-meter steel-arch bridge, 670-meter road overpasses, a 240-meter rail overpass, a 6.2-kilometer road for slow-moving vehicles, a four-lane road, a toll plaza, and a tourist spot. The total project cost is Tk 32.63 billion, and it is slated for completion by June 2025. This venture reflects the collaboration between Chinese and Bangladeshi firms in contributing to the country’s infrastructure development and connectivity improvements.
