Mercantile Bank Limited, in a benevolent act of corporate social responsibility, recently donated ten power tillers to farmers in various unions of Bauphal, Patuakhali. The initiative, funded by the bank’s CSR program, aimed to support local agriculture.
The power tillers were distributed to farmers from the Bauphal, Boga, Dhulia, Naomala, Kanakdia, Surjomoni, Keshobpur, Kachipara, Adabaria, and Chandra Dip Union on October 7th. A ceremony was held for the handover, with the Vice Chairman of MBL, serving as the chief guest. The Managing Director & CEO of the Bank was also present as a special guest.
Additionally, some key bank officials and local farmers attended the event. Notably, a previous donation of five power tillers had been made to farmers in the remaining five unions of the Upazila on August 3rd, 2023. This generous contribution by Mercantile Bank aimed to enhance agricultural productivity and support the livelihoods of farmers in the region.
