The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has initiated a measure to combat false declarations in imports and exports. Importers, exporters, and the C&F Agents Association have been directed to submit information on their clearing and forwarding (C&F) agents by November 15, 2023, which will be entered into the NBR’s Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) software. This will enable customs authorities to identify each C&F agent involved in import and export processes. Importers and exporters who do not comply within the specified timeframe may face restrictions on their imports and exports. The initiative aims to reduce false declarations and improve transparency in trade by ensuring that each trader is associated with three registered C&F agents.
