The State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources discussed the potential of regional cross-border connectivity in creating a sustainable energy system. Speaking at the Third Asian and Pacific Energy Forum (APEF3), the minister emphasized that such connections strengthen cooperation networks, improve energy source efficiency, and help address geopolitical issues. Bangladesh is actively increasing its renewable energy capacity, with plans to connect at least 4,000 MW of renewable energy to the national grid by 2025. The country is also advancing 120 projects to generate 11,706 MW of electricity from renewable sources. The meeting was organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) to discuss the “Green Power Corridor Framework.”
