JMI Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd incurred a substantial loss of Tk 14.99 crore in the fiscal year ending on June 30. This was a significant downturn from their previous year’s profit of Tk 10.07 crore. Consequently, the company reported a negative earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 4.99 for FY23, a stark contrast to the positive Tk 3.35 EPS in FY22.
The company’s net asset value per share also declined, falling to Tk 86.37 in the last financial year, compared to Tk 91.36 the previous year, primarily due to operational losses and adjustments in advance income tax.
Despite the financial challenges, the net operating cash flow per share saw an increase, rising to Tk 2.19 from Tk 1.36, supported by a decrease in accounts receivables and improved collections from sales proceeds. The board of JMI Syringes recommended a 10 percent cash dividend for FY23, and the company’s shares closed at Tk 255.50 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
