Entrepreneurs Promote Eco Friendly Areca Leaf Crockery

Ecovalley BD, a company founded by two entrepreneurs in Chattogram, Bangladesh, has been promoting eco-friendly crockery made from areca leaves. The firm initially imported machines from India for production but has transitioned to manufacturing machines locally. They now provide technical support to other entrepreneurs and have supplied machines to at least 18 businesses in various regions, reducing single-use plastic waste. These eco-friendly products have gained popularity among consumers and are widely used in local restaurants. The company, which employs 20 people and has invested Tk25 lakh in its factory, is now focusing on creating entrepreneurs and increasing production capacity. Their products are slightly more expensive than plastic alternatives but offer numerous environmental benefits, and demand is growing domestically and internationally.
