A tax commissioner emphasized at a workshop that the government’s new income tax law mandates the submission of tax returns for all individuals, including government employees, receiving more than 40 services. Failure to file returns by November 30 will result in the denial of tax exemption and tax refund benefits under the new law. The workshop on ‘Personal Income Tax’ was organized by a local chamber of commerce and advisory services. The chamber’s president highlighted the significance of taxes as a driving force behind the country’s development, citing examples such as the Padma Bridge and the Bangabandhu Tunnel, which were funded by public money.
