Five wellhead compressors are being installed in Titas and Narsingdi gas field wells to enhance gas pressure and ensure a consistent supply. The project, inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, involves the installation of three compressors, with the foundation laid for the remaining two.
Titas gas field, operated by Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL), contributes 392 million cubic feet of gas daily to the national grid. With declining gas pressure in Titas wells, the project aims to normalize extraction and supply by installing compressors at strategic locations. Funded by the government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) with Tk1,822 crore, the initiative also includes well workovers and new drilling for increased overall gas production.
