The exploratory drilling cost for the gas well Kailashtila-8 in Sylhet is set to increase by over Tk 4 crore, approved by the cabinet committee on government purchase. The hike of $364,607, equivalent to Tk 4,0106,770, covers five categories: directional drilling, testing services, cement-related services, wireline logging, and analysis services.
Al Mansoori Petroleum Services LLC, Halliburton International GmbH, China Petroleum Logging Co Ltd, and PanTerra Geoconsultants BV are among the companies receiving increased allocations. The Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration and Production Company Limited will receive Tk 80.65 crore for third-party engineering services. The drilling, initially budgeted at Tk 150.27 crore, is expected to reach a depth of 2,500 meters, producing an estimated 21 million cubic feet of gas per day.
