Chinese company United Spinning & Dyeing Ltd is set to invest $28.2 million to establish a dyed textile yarn manufacturing industry at Uttara Export Processing Zone in Nilphamari, Bangladesh. This marks the company’s inaugural project in an Export Processing Zone (EPZ), with plans for additional investments in the future.
The manufacturing facility aims to commence production by October of the following year, producing an annual output of 12,000 tonnes of dyed textile yarn. The project is expected to create employment opportunities for at least 1,816 Bangladeshis. The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) formalized the agreement with the company, emphasizing the significance of attracting foreign investments to boost the country’s industrial growth.
