Summit Power Limited has recommenced power generation at its Ashulia, Chandina, and Madhabdi plants after successfully negotiating the renewal of power purchase agreements and tariff terms with the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB).
The agreements came into effect on November 22, after the previous contracts expired on August 31. The company faced challenges 2022, with two plants shutting down due to expired agreements. Summit Power’s recent financial data reveals Q1 revenue of Tk1,557 crore, a year-on-year increase from Tk1,292 crore.
The company’s earnings per share for the year stand at Tk0.48, compared to Tk0.83 in 2022, with a net asset value per share of Tk37.68 as of March 2023. Summit Power has sought an extension for report submission until December 31, 2023, from the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission.
