Md Jahangir Alam has been appointed Deputy Managing Director at Union Bank PLC, a fourth-generation Shariah-based institution. Previously, he served as CAMLCO and Deputy CRO at the first-generation AB Bank. Alam holds an M.Com in Marketing, an LLB from Rajshahi University, and an MBA from the Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver.
His extensive professional background spans various roles, including Group CRO, Group Head of ICC, CAMLCO, and Branch Manager in Dhaka. Jahangir Alam is a seasoned speaker, well-versed in risk management, internal control, anti-money laundering, and policy development. He played a crucial role in reviewing CRM and Risk Management Guidelines at Bangladesh Bank and co-authored “Risk Management for Financial Institutions.”
