The Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh expressed China’s interest in importing mangoes and jute products from Bangladesh, emphasizing the need for Bangladesh to implement Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) for product development and conservation.
The President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) assured collaboration with China on this matter. He also urged China to increase imports from Bangladesh and invest in Special Economic Zones. Additionally, he requested China’s cooperation in addressing visa complications for Bangladeshi businessmen visiting China and sought technical cooperation for developing skilled manpower in Bangladesh.
The Chinese Ambassador assured continued cooperation in Bangladesh’s economic development, including human resource development and reducing the trade deficit. He praised Bangladesh’s initiative to establish 100 special economic zones and expressed Chinese entrepreneurs’ willingness to set up industries in these zones.
