In November 2023, the number of mobile internet users in Bangladesh declined for the third consecutive month, reaching 118.96 million, down from 119.79 million in September 2023, according to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
Telecom operators attribute this decrease to a typical year-end trend. Over the past three months, mobile network operators lost 830,000 subscribers, indicating fluctuating growth in mobile data usage tied to individual user needs. Despite the decline in mobile internet users, mobile phone subscriptions increased by 690,000 in November 2023, totaling 190.36 million.
Robi secured the highest number of new subscribers (420,000), followed by Banglalink (290,000) and Teletalk (30,000). However, market leader Grameenphone experienced a decline, losing 50,000 subscribers for the second consecutive month. The dynamics suggest evolving user preferences and competitive shifts in the telecom market.
