The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has removed restrictions on carrying forward unused data for mobile internet users. According to the updated ‘Guidelines for Data and Data Packages of Mobile Phone Operators-2023,’ customers can now retain and utilize all their unused data without any limit. Previously, users were allowed to carry forward up to 50 GB of unused data, but this cap has been entirely eliminated.
The BTRC’s decision aims to enhance flexibility for users, allowing them to utilize all unused data if they renew or repurchase the same package before its expiration. Additionally, the commission had previously directed mobile operators to discontinue three-day and 15-day data packages from October 15 and limit the total number of offered packages to 40 from 95.
