The government plans to establish two fertiliser factories in Ashuganj and Bhola to achieve self-sufficiency in fertiliser production. The Industries Minister announced this initiative during a meeting with ministry officials. Additionally, the ministry aims to provide incentives to the leather industry similar to those given to the garment sector to boost leather goods exports.
Efforts are underway to increase employment opportunities, enhance skills development, modernize sugar mills for profitability, and establish a salt institute in Cox’s Bazar for the salt industry’s development. The ministry is committed to working with relevant authorities to maintain reasonable food prices in the country. The minister emphasized the government’s dedication to fulfilling its election manifesto and meeting public expectations. The ministry also commemorated its achievements over the past 15 years with the unveiling of a book titled “The 15 Years of Development.”
