The Bangladesh Competition Commission (BCC) has imposed a Tk10 lakh fine on Foodpanda following an investigation into allegations of unfair market practices. The fine comes in response to a complaint filed by MGH Restaurants Pvt Ltd in December 2020, accusing Foodpanda of abusing its dominant position in the food delivery sector.

The complaint specifically cited sections 16(1) and 16(2) of the Competition Act. The investigation revealed that Foodpanda Bangladesh abused its dominant market position. Foodpanda, in response, stated that it is reviewing the order and intends to appeal against the decision.
