Biman Bangladesh Airlines has implemented a new travel policy requiring all employees, including cockpit crew, to obtain approval from the managing director and CEO before traveling abroad, irrespective of the purpose. Previously, department chiefs had the authority to approve foreign visits for their subordinates.

The airline has also outlined specific conditions for employee travel abroad, allowing visits for medical treatment, religious purposes, and family-related reasons. The decision comes in the wake of recent incidents where two Biman employees went missing. The airline emphasizes the need for enhanced security measures and approval processes, filing a case against an employee who allegedly traveled to Canada without permission.
