CARE Bangladesh Inks 5-Year MoU with IPHN and NNS

Bank Asia and Chaldal Pay have partnered to offer a 5% discount on online orders from Chaldal.com for Bank Asia debit and credit card holders (VISA & Mastercard). The agreement was signed by Mr. Zishan Ahammad, Head of Cards, ADC & Internet Banking at Bank Asia, and Mr. Iftekharul Alam Ayan, Chief Operating Officer of Chaldal Pay, at Bank Asia's Cards Department Office in Dhaka on December 18, 2024.

Researchers and experts have launched "Bangladesh Development Insights (BDI)," a platform to promote evidence-based policymaking in Bangladesh. BDI aims to bridge the gap between research and decision-making by offering articles, podcasts, videos, and literature reviews to inform policies and public discussions.

The interim government has signed a $100 million loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to strengthen the Bangladesh Infrastructure Finance Fund Limited Project. Running from 2024 to 2029, the project aims to mobilize private financing for public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects.

Japan has provided $3.2 million to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to improve the living conditions of Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox's Bazar and Bhasan Char. The funds will be used for disaster risk reduction, shelter construction and renovation, protection, and skills development.

Md Fazlul Kader has been appointed as the 12th managing director of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) for a three-year term. He began his career at PKSF in 1990 and was promoted to additional managing director in 2021, serving as acting managing director since August 2024.

Al-Arafah Islami Bank signed an agreement with InterContinental Dhaka to offer exclusive benefits to its La-Riba platinum credit Mastercard holders. The deal, finalized at the bank’s head office in Dhaka on Monday, includes a "Buy-One-Get-One" offer for cardholders.
