IFC Appoints Imad as New Regional Director for South Asia

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, has appointed Imad N Fakhoury as the regional director for South Asia. In this role, Fakhoury will lead IFC’s strategy and operations in the region, focusing on fostering impactful development outcomes through collaboration with the private sector, governments, and regional partners.

Fakhoury brings deep experience in mobilizing private capital for sustainable infrastructure and climate transitions. IFC’s priorities in South Asia include strategic investments, advisory interventions, strengthening capital markets, enhancing competitiveness, and promoting gender equity. In the fiscal year 2023, IFC provided nearly $3.45 billion in long-term investments in South Asia, contributing to the region’s development goals.
