Grameenphone Bangladesh has announced a 125% cash dividend for 2023, marking its lowest since 2010. This dividend payout ratio, representing 51.03% of total profit, contrasts with 98.72% in 2022. The operator’s net profit for 2023 increased by 9.90% to Tk3,307 crore, with earnings per share (EPS) rising from Tk22.29 in 2022 to Tk24.49. Revenue grew by 5.51% to Tk15,870 crore, driven by higher mobile communication revenue, partially offset by lower bundle service revenue.
Grameenphone’s AGM is scheduled for May 2, and the record date for dividends is February 29. The shareholding structure reveals Telenor Mobile Communication AS holding 55.80%, Grameen Telecom holding 34.20%, and the remaining 10% distributed among institutional, foreign, and general investors.
