The UN High Commissioner for Refugees and humanitarian partners have requested $852.4 million to reach 1.35 million people in the Rohingya humanitarian crisis, including host communities and individuals, during the 2024 Joint Response Plan unveiling in Geneva.
The Joint Response Plan, involving 117 Bangladeshi organizations, aims to provide essential services to nearly one million Rohingya individuals in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char, as well as 346,000 from host communities. The plan aims to address the underfunding that has led to the Rohingya’s struggle to meet basic needs and risk of being forgotten. As the humanitarian catastrophe remains largely unnoticed, the government, local communities, and aid organizations require ongoing international support to address the growing needs of the Rohingya community.
