United Commercial Bank Plc, plans to increase its authorized capital by Tk 1,000 crore, from Tk 1,500 crore to Tk 2,500 crore. As of now, the company’s paid-up capital stands at Tk 1,476 crore 54 lakh, with a total of 147 crore 65 lakh 48 thousand 476 shares. Among the shareholders, entrepreneurs and managers hold 35.87%, government 0.81%, institutional investors 20.87%, foreign investors 0.53%, and ordinary investors 41.92% shares.
In the third quarter of the current financial year (July-September, 2023), United Commercial Bank’s earnings per share (EPS) increased to 53 paise from 48 paise in the same period of the previous year. For the first three quarters (January-September, 2023), the EPS stood at Tk 1.20, compared to Tk 1.32 in the same period of the previous year. As of September 30, 2023, the company’s net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 28.71. However, the cash flow per share for the first two quarters was 34.72 paisa, contrasting with a deficit of 18.42 paisa in the same period of the previous year.
