The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has requested returning officers to provide information about the candidates participating in the second phase of the Upazila Parishad election. The BB seeks details regarding the candidates’ debts, including their full names, parents’ names, national identity card numbers, taxpayer identification numbers, and dates of birth, in both Bengali and English. The letter also asks for the candidates’ permanent and present addresses, which should be sent via email along with the name, seal, signature, and mobile phone number of the returning officer or assistant returning officer. The second phase of the sixth Upazila Parishad election is scheduled for May 21, with 2,055 candidates submitting their nomination papers. Among them, 730 candidates are running for chairman, 763 for vice chairman, and 562 for female vice chairman positions.
