The country’s bourses, particularly the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), experienced a further decline on Wednesday, primarily due to price falls in large-cap securities. However, the turnover, a crucial market indicator, increased to Tk 6.03 billion, slightly higher than the previous session’s Tk 5.97 billion. The DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, dropped by 54.64 points or 0.97% to 5578.97. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also declined, losing 6.16 points to close at 1229.60. In contrast, the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue-chip stocks, gained 4.25 points to finish at 1984.68. Out of the 394 issues traded, 274 declined, 79 advanced, and 41 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor. ADNTEL emerged as the day’s top gainer with a 9.91% increase, while KPPL suffered the most significant loss, declining by 9.77%.
