Bangladesh Bank issued an order stating that 57 employees have resigned from their positions. These employees, mainly from the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), have opted to pursue other career opportunities. It’s noted that previously, individuals with backgrounds in BCS and academia would often join central banks. However, the trend has reversed due to dwindling job satisfaction and decreased opportunities within the autonomous administration of central banks. Among the resignees, one was a deputy director and one was an officer, while the rest were assistant directors. The resignations of 48 assistant directors will take effect on Thursday. Additionally, resignations from one employee each on March 31st, April 15th, and April 16th, two on April 18th, and four on April 21st have been acknowledged. Most of these departing employees were stationed in various divisions of the central bank’s headquarters. Furthermore, three were stationed in the Khulna and Barishal offices, two in Sylhet, and one each in Motijheel, Chittagong, and Rangpur offices.
