Mohammad Abu Jafar, a seasoned banker with 34 years of experience, has been appointed as the Managing Director & CEO of The Premier Bank PLC, effective April 24. With extensive expertise in diverse areas such as RMG financing, offshore banking, corporate banking, and treasury operations, Jafar previously served as additional managing director & CBO at Dhaka Bank PLC. He also held the position of Managing Director at Dhaka Bank Investment Limited. Beginning his career as a Probationary Officer at Uttara Bank PLC in 1990, Jafar later worked at National Bank PLC and Dhaka Bank PLC, where he managed AD Branches for over 15 years. He holds a distinction in Economics from the University of Chittagong and a diploma from the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh. Throughout his career, Jafar has actively participated in various banking programs, training sessions, seminars, and symposiums, both domestically and internationally.
