The newly formed Petroleum Transmission Company (PTC)-PLC, created about two years ago as a subsidiary of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), is facing delays in starting its operations and maintenance responsibilities for fuel transmission facilities nationwide. Despite recruiting or deputizing 62 officials and employees, the organization lacks the necessary experience and expertise for the specialized technical tasks required. The managing director acknowledged the challenges, stating that the organization needs more time to develop its capabilities. The PTC-PLC was formed to oversee operations, maintenance, security, and coordination of BPC’s pipelines across the country, including projects like the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline.
