The government has approved the procurement of lentils, soybean oil, and rice bran oil for the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) through open and direct purchase methods. The total expenditure allocated for this procurement is 468 crore 33 lakh 40 thousand taka. The approved quantities include 22 thousand tons of lentils, 1 crore 2 million liters of soybean oil, and 4 million liters of rice bran oil. Lentils and rice bran oil will be procured via open tender, while soybean oil will be acquired through direct purchase. Specific purchase details include 6 thousand metric tons of lentils at 103 taka 24 paisa per kg, totaling 61 crore 94 lakh 40 thousand taka. Additionally, 1 crore 2 million liters of soybean oil will be procured at 152 taka per liter, costing 182 crore 40 lakhs. Moreover, 40 lakh liters of rice bran oil will be acquired at 148.75 taka per liter, amounting to 59 crore 50 lakh taka. Other approved procurements involve lentils from various sources totaling 10 thousand metric tons and costing 103 crore 75 lakh taka, and an additional 6 thousand metric tons of lentils at 101 taka 40 paisa per kg, totaling 60 crore 84 lakh taka.
