The United States, through the Department of State Bureau for Population, Refugees, and Migration and USAID, is providing an additional $30.5 million in assistance for Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, Bhasan Char, and the surrounding region. This funding will support healthcare, nutrition, clean water, shelter, and self-reliance initiatives aimed at easing reliance on humanitarian aid. US Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture, announced the new assistance during a visit to Bangladesh to observe US government humanitarian activities. The US remains committed to working with the Bangladesh government and partners to support Rohingya refugees and affected communities. The US is the largest donor of humanitarian aid to those affected by the Rohingya crisis, with total funding reaching nearly $2.4 billion since August 2017, including over $1.9 billion for refugees and host communities in Bangladesh.
