Shamsul Arefin has assumed the role of managing director & CEO at NCC Bank PLC, bringing with him a wealth of experience garnered from various leadership positions within the same bank and several others. His extensive career spans diverse roles across prominent banking institutions, including stints at Eastern Bank, ONE Bank, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Jamuna Bank, Premier Bank, and SBAC Bank. Arefin’s journey in banking began in 1994 as a Management Trainee at Eastern Bank. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strong leadership, serving as CAMLCO, chief risk officer, and head of corporate business, among other roles. Arefin holds academic achievements, including a B.Com (Honors) from Aligarh Muslim University, India, an M.Com (Finance) from the University of Dhaka, and an MBA with a major in Finance from North South University. He has actively participated in numerous seminars and workshops, both domestically and internationally, further enriching his banking expertise.
