A freight train carrying 1,650 tonnes of Indian onions arrived at Darshana Railway Station, Chuadanga, on March 31. Imported by TCB from New Delhi-based National Cooperative Limited, the onions will be retailed at Tk40 per kg through the OMS program in Dhaka and Chattogram. TCB paid Tk11.93 lakh as the train fare. State Minister for Commerce announced the arrival, expecting it to stabilize prices. General Secretary of Chuadanga Darshana C&F Agent Association confirmed the arrival, anticipating a price reduction nationwide.
