ASM Abdul Halim has been appointed as the chairman and a director of the Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation for a three-year term, effective today. The Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance issued the notification. Halim, a former cabinet secretary and East Pakistan Civil Service officer, previously served as a director of the corporation from 1999-2000. He has held various administrative positions, including sub-divisional commissioner, deputy commissioner, and divisional commissioner, and has served as secretary of the ministries of jute and agriculture. Halim holds degrees from the University of Dhaka and the University of Birmingham.
