Syed Abu Naser Bukhtear Ahmed, a seasoned banker with 40 years of experience, has been appointed as the chairman of Agrani Bank for a three-year term, according to a recent notification from the Financial Institution Department (FID) under the finance ministry. Naser, who previously served as the managing director of Agrani Bank, also holds roles as an independent director at both Dhaka Bank and International Leasing and Financial Services Ltd (ILFSL). His appointment comes as part of efforts to stabilize ILFSL after significant financial mismanagement. He succeeds Dr. Zaid Bakht, who resigned following a decade-long tenure amidst recent political changes.
