The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) introduced a Tk 1,500 annual fee for its mobile app in July last year, extending it to existing users in January. This move coincided with a prolonged bearish market period, prompting a 30% decline in active users by May this year. Transactions via the app also dropped by 21% during this period, reflecting investor reluctance amid stagnant stock prices and minimal profitability. Despite recent upgrades to accommodate more users, the app’s popularity remains subdued amidst ongoing market challenges.
